Waylon’s Story

Waylon Madison Sauer – 10/28/2006 – 11/14/2023

Waylon was a highly driven individual. He set his goals and worked tirelessly towards achieving them. Often when we would drive around and hangout, you could find him working on either his school work, or his advanced algorithm typing up long chains of complex coding that he taught himself. He was inspiring, even more so up close once you got to know him. We all admired his intellect and creativity, his passion and diligence, and his love for his family and community. Not only was Waylon academically driven, he was driven to succeed at what he set his mind to. Basketball was one of his passions, and he put in hours and hours of sweat and grit to improve his game. His mindset and work ethic opened many doors for him and nothing was out of his reach. Waylon knew if he worked hard, dedicated time and effort towards his future, he would find success and happiness.

Even with all his amazing attributes, he remained humble and compassionate. He was a fiercely loving brother, and son. He loved his community and his Wampanoag heritage, and would spend many hours contributing his time and love to events for the betterment of his people. At the close of his sophomore year, Waylon won the Character Award, affirming his genuine kindness and outstanding personality. He was a joy to be around; his peaceful demeanor and infectious smile brightened the room. He brimmed with charisma and poise, confident in his identity and capabilities. He was the kind of person to see things through, thug out his hardships, and get the job done. He was a textbook role model.

We dedicate this page to Waylon Madison Sauer. We dedicate this to his inspiring memory. We dedicate this to Waylon in hopes that those who read this will follow his example. Live your life with focus and hard work. Live your life without boundaries. Live your life with love and compassion. Live your life like Waylon.
